Pantone helps standardize color the world over and annually announces its Color of the Year, which is sure to be a hit in fashion design and home furnishings. The Color of the Year for 2011 was a deep pink called Honeysuckle; Turquoise earned the title in 2010. But you’re probably wondering what’s to come for next year.
Pantone very recently announced the Color of the Year for 2012, and it is: Tangerine Tango. This orange hue made appearances in Pantone’s Spring Fashion Color Reports for men and women, and is expected to maintain its popularity throughout next year. In the press release, Executive Director of Pantone, Leatrice Eiseman, has this to say about the color:
“Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it. Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
