We recently came across a great Houzz article that rounded up “8 Influential Home Design Trends for 2012” based on what emerged as popular recurrences from the Best in American Living Awards. Here are a few of the important trends:
- Lots of storage space in the kitchen is essential. Even with many kitchens getting smaller overall, they’re staying big on storage.
- Transitional style, which expertly combines a traditional and a contemporary look, is all the rage this year.
- Outdoor living is a trend that’s continued its popularity. People are interested in having a great outdoor area that’s an extension of their home’s beautiful interior, where they can enjoy entertaining and having a place to relax.
